Sampson Ahi, has reaffirmed the Governments commitment to supporting Yedent Agro Group of Companies to expand its operations across the country.<\/p>\n<p>He said government remains dedicated to creating a favorable environment for local businesses to grow, create jobs, and build wealth for Ghanaians.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during a factory tour of Yedent Agro Group\u2019s facility in Sunyani on Wednesday 5th November 2025, Hon. Ahi stated: \u201cThis is the type of company that His Excellency the President is ready to support under the Agribusiness Drive\u00a0 to enable it expand, invest, and grow while contributing to the national economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He further noted that the government, through the Ghana Enterprise Agency (GEA), is ready to assist Small and Medium-scale Enterprises (SMEs) to enhance their productivity and competitiveness.<\/p>\n<p>However, Hon. Ahi urged beneficiaries of government financial support to honor their loan repayment obligations, emphasizing that such funds are intended to help businesses grow and should be used prudently. \u201cIn most developed economies, growth is driven by a strong private sector. Ghana must continue to empower its local businesses to plant that role,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy Minister commended Yedent Agro Group, a wholly Ghanaian-owned company and leading manufacturer of cereals and fortified food products, for its resilience, innovation, and contribution to Ghana\u2019s agribusiness sector.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Executive Officer of Yedent Agro Group, Mr. Samuel Ntim-Adu, revealed that the company is partnering with the Newmont Ahafo Development Foundation (NADeF) to establish a broiler processing plant at Wamahinso and develop poultry farms in ten communities within the Ahafo area \u2014 including Yamfo, Kenyasi No. 1, and Kenyasi No. 2., adding that Ghana consume 5 million Poultry birds annually the second in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the initiative is aimed at engaging the youth in sustainable and decent employment opportunities as an alternative to illegal mining (galamsey) activities. \u201cOur goal is to empower young people in the Ahafo communities with livelihood opportunities that contribute to food security and national development,\u201d Mr. Ntim-Adu stated.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed optimism that with continued government and stakeholder support, Yedent, which currently employs about 200 people, will continue to grow and make significant contributions to the country\u2019s agribusiness and employment sectors.<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy General Manager of Ghana Exim Bank, Dr. Mavis Owureku-Asare, commended Yedent Agro Group for its impressive self-driven expansion and commitment to excellence. \u201cYedent, on its own, has demonstrated great capacity to expand, and the Bank will be more than ready to support them,\u201dshe affirmed.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Owureku-Asare reiterated Ghana Exim Bank\u2019s readiness to partner with viable local enterprises that align with the government\u2019s industrialization and agribusiness agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Yedent Agro Group of Companies is a wholly Ghanaian-owned agribusiness firm based in Sunyani in the Bono Region.
